Hobie Wave

The Hobie Wave was developed and designed in collaboration with Morrelli & Melvin Design & Engineering. Hobie Cat's line of products ranges from surfboards to catamaran sailboats to kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, though the Hobie Cat Company is most famous around the world for its catamarans.

The Wave catamaran was designed to be an approachable, inexpensive, entry-level beach cat and has turned out to be enormously popular with thousands produced and enjoyed around the world. From it’s conception, the Hobie Wave was designed to built in rotomolded polyethylene which required creative design challenges.

For decades, Siewert Design has been integral to the development of technological and design development of the boat rotomolding process. We have extensive experience and patents in creating custom hull and deck forms to maximizing polyethylene’s incredible resilience, strength and shock-absorption. The result is a design that’s both stylish and functional.
